Covington Century
15th Annual Covington Century with Project Adventure Ride for Youth Sunday, August 3, 2003, 8 AM Join us for one of the best bike rides in the South, the Covington Century. This year Project Adventure is sponsoring the ride with all proceeds going to their innovative Covington Campus for homeless, neglected and abused youth. The ride winds its way through the rural counties of Newton, Jasper and Walton. You will ride through historic Social Circle, Newborn, Mansfield, and other interesting areas of these counties. The ride offers some beautiful scenery and turn of the century architecture. Visit a 19th century general store in Social Circle, antique shops in Rutledge. Stop at Preachers Rock on Hwy 11. The course is fairly flat and the short hills provide a comfortable break. Traffic is minimal and at times non-existent. The course is undoubtedly one of the fastest in the South. If you’re looking for a personal best – smooth, easy, fast and beautiful – this is it! Directions to Start Take I-20 East from Atlanta to Exit 93. Turn right at end of exit. Go to first traffic light (approx ˝ mi). Turn left on US Hwy 278. Go 1 mi to Elks Club Rd & turn right. Elks Club Rd is just past the two bridges and adjacent to the Chevron Gas Station on Hwy 278. Follow Elks Club Rd for 1/2 mi. Project Adventure is on the right. Parking, staging, registration, start and finish all take place at Project Adventure. Registration Pre-registration $25 until 7/26/03. Day of event $30. T-shirts only guaranteed for pre-registered riders. Meal included in all registration fees. 3 Dollar Ride
Atlanta
The 3 Dollar Ride is a "mini-MS 150" ride held August 16th (South Fulton Ramble - 37 miles). The purpose of the Three Dollar Rides is to help train those who've registered for the MS 150 and to give those who haven't, a sample of what it's like to ride the MS 150! There will be a small fee, $3 per rider to underwrite the cost of the ride, check-in starts at 7am and the ride will begin around 8am. Historic Savannah Bikefest
SATURDAY:Choose from five (25 to 30 mile) rides with ride leaders (but not supported) include Forrest Gump Ride, Pooler Figure Eight, Ellabelle Loop, Pink Pig Promenade and self guided bicycle tour of historic district. Wine and Cheese Party for all pre-registered riders Saturday afternoon.

SUNDAY: Fully supported rides include 25, 36, 50 and 100 mile routes. Lunch after ride Sunday. Theme this year will be "Let Freedom Ring" first 1,000 riders get American Flag to fly from bikes.
